I have been looking for a brownie recipe that I can mix my green food powders in. I think this will work well, I am going to try it out this weekend.

Thank you, thank you! I recently switched over to a mostly raw vegan diet, but I've been having trouble sticking to it because this summer I'm living with some relatives who are the FURTHEST thing from that. Maybe I can win them over to healthier eating with this one! Thanks again! Let's hope it works. :]

OOH, these do sound good! I've been looking for an all-natural alternative to the standard brownie (which I so miss!). Thank you very much for the recipe ;-)

What does it mean to "soak the dates" first? Do you just soak them in water? If so, for how long?

We make the same types of snacks over here, and all I have to say is...YUM! These are really good, and make a great to-go snack for my kids. Whenever we bring these snacks out at homeschool classes and such, people ALWAYS ask me for the recipe.

I always use nuts (almonds, walnuts, cashews, pecans) along with medjool dates as a base, combine these 2 items well, and then jazz it up with all sorts of tasty vegan additions...flax seeds and flax meal, seeds (sesame, sunflower, pumpkin), coconut, cacao powder and cacao nibs, dried cranberries, maybe some local honey, and those hip little hempseeds. the possibilities are endless! And my kids just INHALE them. We call them Earth Balls, and I just posted about them. Paired with a groovy green smoothie, they make a fabulous meal for my high raw vegan munchkins.

Am going to try your yummy recipe....they look chocolately and sinfully delicious!

Wow. I've been trying to get my hubby to eat less processed sweets and this recipe would be perfect.(excluding coconut due to his allergy)

Only one question... what is Agave nectar and where can I find it?
Thanks,
~ Willow
