Thank you for your list! I always ask that people buy my boys books for Christmas, and I'm on the lookout for well-illustrated, well-written books.

I love all of Jan Brett's books because of the beautiful artwork. They are pretty nature-oriented. A great one for Christmas or winter is the "Three Snow Bears".

It's a knock off of "Goldilocks and the Three Bears", but with polar bears. Very cute and timely given the plight of polar bears.

I'm sure you may have seen this already, but there is also a DVD for Stranger in the Woods. My good friends, Robert and Laura Sams (cousins of Sams and Stoick) shot the movie, which follows along with the book and uses the voices you are mentioning you use when you read. There are some fun songs on there as well. I highly recommend the DVD. They also have a book and DVD called Lost in the Woods (springtime about a fawn). These friends, Laura and Robert Sams are a brother-sister duo called Sisbro Edventures. Their website is: www.sisbro.com and they specialize in outdoor education for kids.

Enjoy!
