Cool Toy Alert - Plan Toys

I am seriously in love with Plan Toys…they ae so darn cute and so earth friendly how could I not be? My son has several of the little wooden cars, trucks, and cranes. I just love the little wooden people too.  They remind me of weebles (remember those?) but made of sustainable materials.

One of their newest toys would appeal to my daughter… a wooden tea set. This is so adorable! Just look at those wooden tea bags!

The set includes:

  • a teapot
  • a sugar bowl
  • a milk pitcher
  • 2 tea cups
  • 2 saucers
  • 2 tea spoons
  • 2 tea bags
  • 2 pieces of sugar

Made of natural, chemical free recycled rubberwood and finished with non-toxic water based dye. My daughter would be over the moon for this.

Only $24.99 available at Kangaroo Boo.

Cute! I love Plan Toys as well, especially the City vehicles my son plays with for hours on end. This is a great price for a high quality product/company.

  3. I love plan toys too! I have a giveaway coming up for 5 plan toys this weekend.

Not to rain on your parade but doesn’t the eco-trouble from transport(”Made in Thialand”) totaly counterballance any good from this toy being made in a green way?

It is cute but I’d rather give that money to a local artisan than ship this stuff in from a factory in another country.

    Just my $0.02 of course,
    - Shannon

Actually no. If a plastic tea set and wooden tea set both come from Thialand the wood is still better than the plastic. I think you might be forgetting that MOST of the plastic tea sets you find in stores are manufactured in foreign countries like China and Thialand.

I’d love one of these for my daughter. I have to check out Jennifers giveaway!

  7. Shannon says:

I wasn’t talking about buying plastic toys that were also shiped in… I said specifically “local artisan” and was thinking of those folks at craft fairs who make simmilar wooden toys.

  8. Those are adorable.

    Thanks for sharing,
    Heidi

That is adorable ! What do you think of this recycled wood tea set made in the US ?

  10. Tiffany says:

Julie, I have reviewed that tea set on this blog..a few months ago. I do like it. ;)

Shannon, local is better. I love to shop at Etsy for local wares. But I do like and support companies like Plan Toys and Melissa and Doug as well, despite their outsourcing of production because they are bringing healthier and more sustainable toys to the masses.

  12. Maria says:

My son and I played with this tea set last week at a local shop, and I loved it too. I almost bought it (and hten would have hid the small parts), but I thought it would be better to wait until he is ready for the sugar cubes. :)

I love this little set. I am currently blogging on natural toys so this is right up my alley! Thanks for posting this and keep up the great work! Cheers, Kimberly
