The Story of Stuff

Posted by Tiffany at 10:21 am in A Green Home, Eco Tips.

I admit it. I am still a little addicted to stuff.

One of the most important things that eco conscious families can do is learn to simplify and reduce the amount of stuff they buy and invite into their home and lives because STUFF has a big impact on our planet and our lives. I watched an amazing video yesterday that captures beautifully how BIG an impact the stuff we buy has. It really does highlight how consumers can make or break the world. We need to start showing this video in schools to try and counteract that consumer mentality that government and corporations are trying to push on us every day of our lives. We just don’t need all this “stuff”. Sustainable, natural and non-toxic, fair trade, and 100% recyclable are admirable things to consider when making purchases but the first thing we should consider is the need for this stuff at all. Here is a teaser video. For the full video go to The Story of Stuff.
