I have just been dying to talk about Harry Potter but the subject isn’t necessarily one for natural and/or green moms so I have held back my excitement. I did post awhile back about the new Harry Potter book being printed on recycled paper so that is pretty cool. But now I have found even more reasons and or incentive for moms to get their green on with Harry Potter this week.

A new blog I am enjoying called Fluffy Flowers has been running a contest everyday with discussions about each book and prizes being awarded to one person who comments each day. Most of the prize packs have included hand-knit mini Weasley sweaters. I ran across this blogger when she found my blog and commented. I then followed her over to her blog and I bought from her etsy store as she sells adorable craft creations made from recycled clothing. The contest is almost over but maybe you can get in for a day or two.

Eco Libris is a site that encourages sustainable reading and green living. They are running a contest too. Just send them a picture of yourself posing with one of the Harry Potter books for a chance to have trees planted in your name maybe win a copy of the 100% recycled paper book.

And did you happen to catch the latest Organic Consumers newsletter? It encourages people NOT to buy their book from Wal-Mart which is pricing the book so low (50% of suggested retail price) that smaller book shops can not compete. According to the newsletter, If-He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named ran a store it would probably look alot like Wal-Mart. Check out Harry Potter and the Darl Lord Waldemort in this hilarious video:

I just saw the fith movie and I will be buying the book when it is released. I can’t wait!
