A couple weeks ago I was reading about Carrie’s adventure with a U-Pick farm. She and her kids went to pick blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, and blackberries. Well, this reminded me that the season for red and black raspberries was looming in Central Ohio so I decided to consult the Pick Your Own website and find a local source of these delicious barries. I selected the Champaign Berry Farm in Urbana. The kids and I spent an hour picking raspberries, talking with the farmers, and having a great time. My youngest son Parker was just ecstatic that all that delicious food was at his eye level and ripe for the picking!

My other two kids loved it as well and can’t wait to go on more trips like that. Pretty soon we will be visitng Laurence Orchards near our home for apples, pumpkins and hayrides. And before that we will be picking strawberries at Crum Strawberry Farm. We are also going to be taking a few canning classes locally too.

Here is a video slideshow of our adventure. Enjoy!

Awesome video - my kids love raspberries. Wish we had some berry farms close by - what we have here are apple picking, pear picking and I guess orange picking too
