This book is a bit outdated in a few ways but I still think this book merits a read by the environmentally conscience and those who want to protect their household from toxins.

Not only does it go into all the reasons why conventional cleaning products are not acceptable it has tons of great recipes for making your own cleaning products. The scented baking soda scrubs that I frequently use in my home are courtesy of this great book. Just some of the great tips in this book:

1. Olive oil is not just for salads…it also makes a great furniture polish
2. Club soda works great as a window cleaner
3. You can make your copper-bottomed pots sparkle with lemon juice and salt
4. Ordinary liquid soap will help you get rid of those ants marching through your house

Happy Cleaning!

Does anyone know what happened to Karen Logan or her company? It was such a great idea to have a place where you could get the right bottles – and labeled! But, the website and phone number in the book don’t work…
